Where we meet

Taking a stand.

The Charity Fund of Intesa Sanpaolo has chosen to stand beside women and children escaping violence. That is exactly where WIS and La Mongolfiera work.

Without this support, the campaign that helps people recognise violence every week would not exist.

What it is

A fund that chooses which side it's on.

  • It is the tool Intesa Sanpaolo uses to support the communities where it works, funding non-profit projects with grants that do not have to be repaid. It comes under the Chairman's Office of the bank.

  • It chooses projects for their social impact and for the reliability of the people who carry them out.

  • Supporting women and children who are victims of violence is one of its three priority areas: in 2023 it devoted more than a third of its grants to it.

The thread of support

From support to a life starting again.

Scroll and follow the thread: it's the path support travels, from those who choose to give it to those who need it.

  1. Who supports it

    Charity Fund of Intesa Sanpaolo

It chooses to support projects tackling violence against women and children.

  2. Who makes it happen

    Girotondo Onlus

The social cooperative that has been working in the Castelli Romani, near Rome, since 1999, running shelter homes and social care services.

  3. The voice

    WIS — Women in Safety

The campaign that every week, on social media, helps people recognise violence and know who to ask for help.

  4. The home

    La Mongolfiera

92 people welcomed since we opened: 34 women and 58 children, supported by an all-women team of support workers, lawyers and language mediators.

  5. The destination

    A woman starting again.

The result isn't a number. It's a life that becomes hers again.

What it makes possible

Support, translated into people.

  • 92

    people welcomed since we opened

34 women and 58 children welcomed at La Mongolfiera.

  • 15

    women support workers

specialised in gender-based violence, beside every woman.

  • 5

    women lawyers

to guide each woman through police reports, separation and protecting her children.

  • 4

    women language and cultural mediators

so every woman can speak in her own language.

Become a supporter

If you run a business, you hold a piece of the solution.

Supporting WIS isn't just charity: it's choosing to be on the right side, in a practical way.

  1. 01

    Support the project

A contribution to the WIS campaign or to the women and children welcomed at La Mongolfiera.

  2. 02

    Open a door

A work placement, a contract, a first job: for a woman starting again, an income of her own is freedom.

  3. 03

    Spread the message

Share WIS content with the people you work with and with your customers. The more people can recognise violence, the fewer people are left alone.

For private donations, you'll find all the information on the Girotondo Onlus website.
